ESSO BEGINS HOCKEY TOUR

Imperial Oil began a promotion called the Esso Legends of Hockey Tour yesterday. The initiative was developed by Toronto-based TrojanOne to publicize Esso's sponsorship of major and minor league hockey in Canada. The tour will visit local hockey arenas in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia over the summer. The exhibits travel in a truck covered with a 51' hockey mural. The tour consists of games, photo opportunities, player appearances, merchandise areas, fundraising activities, Nintendo GameCube kiosks, contests and memorabilia from the Hockey Hall of Fame. TrojanOne is managing the tour and provided the creative elements. Public relations are being handled by Palmer Jarvis DDB.
