TOLL FREE NUMBERS POPULAR
By Adnews Staff
Ninety-two percent of small Canadian companies say toll-free 800 services are necessary for conducting business, and that the services have resulted in increased sales, according to a study done for the Stentor Alliance. Researchers conducted the study with small businesses having less than 50 employees. Ninety-eight percent said they are extremely satisfied with toll-free services, and 94% said the absence of these services would have a negative impact on their company. Stentor is running out of 1-800 numbers so it has now added a 1-888 toll-free access code. The new code makes and additional 7.6 million toll-free numbers available. The Stentor Alliance was formed in 1992 by Bell Canada and other regional telephone services across Canada.
