DUNLOP TIRES BEGINS SECOND PHASE OF NAME CHANGE PROMOTION

Dunlop Tires will begin a second phase of its name change promotion this week. The first phase ran last year. Canadians with the last name Dunlop were offered money to legally change their names to Dunlop-Tire. Four people responded, splitting a prize of $25,000. The second phase is aimed at Canadians who have the last name of any tire manufacturer other than Dunlop. Those who legally change their names will be eligible for a share of another $25,000 prize. The four Canadians who changed their last names to Dunlop-Tire last year will act as "Dunlop Name Swap Bounty Hunters" this year. Each will receive $1,000 if they personally convince someone to make the name switch. Information kits, created by Toronto-based Page Communications, will be sent to approximately 500 Canadians with appropriate last names. Participants must indicate their interest by June 10. Participants will then have until Aug. 12 to legally change their names. Public relations for Dunlop Tires are handled by Environics Communications of Toronto.
