TOURISM NEW BRUNSWICK TARGETS QUEBECKERS

Tourism New Brunswick has begun new advertising in Quebec in an effort to attract more vacationers from that province. According to the organization, Quebec residents accounted for 22% of the two million people who visited the province last year. The new advertising uses the slogan, "Des plages d'eau chaude, dans une mer d'activités." The prints ads, developed by Montreal-based LG2, focus on two of the province's main attractions: warm beaches and seafood. The campaign also includes mailings and postcard inserts in magazines. In addition to families, Tourism New Brunswick hopes to attract more couples without children, a group which, according to the organization, has more flexibility in choosing vacation times. The 2003 marketing program will also include a series of events at the beginning and end of the summer.
