LIVE LOTTERY BALL DRAWS RETURN IN ONTARIO
By Adnews Staff
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation is bringing back live lottery ball draws. A program called "Ontario Lottery Tonight" will debut on April 2. The 90-second vignettes will be created in-house by the OLGC. They will be hosted by actress Amanda Martinez and will air on Ontario Chum Television stations on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights between 11:10 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. The Wednesday and Saturday broadcasts will carry the Lotto 6/49 winning numbers, while the Friday broadcasts will carry the winning Lotto Super 7 numbers. All three broadcasts will carry the Encore winning numbers. "While the televised draw shows help showcase our top brands, they also provide a great opportunity to communicate information on winners and winnability," said Ron Craig, director of lottery marketing for the corporation. "Ontario Lottery Tonight" will be promoted with in-store materials at lottery retailers and with animated billboards in the Greater Toronto Area. The corporation stopped broadcasting live lottery ball draws in 1996.
