ELODA INTRODUCES COMMERCIAL MONITORING SERVICE

A Montreal-based company called Eloda will introduce a new television commercial monitoring service tomorrow. Subscribers to the firm's Web site at <http://www.eloda.com> will be able to search a database of currently-airing Canadian TV ads and view the matching clips. The service is aimed at marketing, advertising public relations and sales professionals who wish to track the ads of competitors. The company monitors the main Canadian networks during prime time and updates its database three times per day. For each ad, the company logs the time, date and station, along with the advertiser, category, product and market. The user can search this information and view or download video of matching ads. Eloda will initially monitor the Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver markets. Coverage of other areas is envisioned. "Eloda is fulfilling a genuine need in the Canadian industry," said company president Jean-François Pouliot. "Marketing and communications professionals will now have access to a sophisticated tool to help them keep track of their competitors ads in real time."
