FIRKIN, LABATT BEGIN BIG CLUCKING DEAL PROMOTION

The Firkin Group of Pubs, based in Markham, ON, and Labatt will begin a promotion called the "Big Clucking Deal" on March 24 at 35 Canadian locations. The effort will aim to increase sales of the chain's chicken menu items and Carlsberg beer by offering them as a package deal. The six-week campaign will make use of radio and television advertising, as well as public relations. In-store materials will include banners, posters, menu inserts and standees. "The Big Clucking Deal promotion will remind our customers that a Firkin Pub is not just a drinking establishment," said Larry Isaacs, the company's director of marketing. The campaign was created by JAN Kelly Marketing of Burlington, ON. Public relations are being handled by The Communications Group of Toronto.
