TORONTO CHURCH BEGINS TRANSIT CAMPAIGN
By Adnews Staff
The Metropolitan United Church in Toronto church has begun a transit advertising campaign to attract people to its congregation. The posters in the city's downtown subway stations use humourous juxtapositions of copy and images. The creative places the headline "Will & Grace live at Queen & Church" above several photographs of the church and its members. Each photo includes a caption that makes reference to a television show. A picture of the church's senior minister Rev. Dr. Malcolm Sinclair is captioned "Malcolm in the Middle." A picture of the church choir is captioned "The Sopranos." The creative was done by Wishart Advertising & Graphic Design of Toronto. Transit advertising began in late February. A newspaper campaign and direct mail effort will take place in the spring.
