By Adnews Staff
7-Eleven of Dallas, TX has introduced a new payment method called the 7-Eleven Convenience Card. The pre-paid cards come in credit card and smaller keychain sizes. The cards can be loaded with amounts between $5 and $500. Customers can pay for their purchases by swiping the card through a reader. The cards carry images of various 7-Eleven products such as Slurpees, coffee and gasoline. New card designs including holographic images and extreme sports will be introduced later this year. The Convenience Card can be used to purchase any item at a 7-Eleven store excluding lottery tickets and money orders. Cards can be re-loaded online, through a toll-free number or at a store. Customers can also register their cards. In case of loss, the original card will be de-activated and a replacement issued. Trish Lee, communications manger for 7-Eleven Canada of Burnaby, BC, said their are plans to bring the cards to Canada, but the introduction is not expected this year.
