WAKEHAM & ASSOCIATES GAINS ARTS CLIENTS

Toronto-based Wakeham & Associates and its wholly-owned U.S. subsidiary Sponsorship Marketing Group of Laguna Beach, CA, have recently been hired as sponsorship agency for several North American performing arts venues. In Canada, Wakeham received a one-year contract from the Hummingbird Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto last month. Wakeham's U.S. subsidiary began a one-year contract from the New England Performing Arts Center in Franklin, MA last fall. A six-month contract from the Baltimore Lyric Opera in Baltimore, MD began on Jan. 1, as did a six-month contract from the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in Philadelphia, PA. In mid-January the agency signed a six-month renewal contract with the Paramount Theatre in Oakland, CA. Paramount first hired Wakeham in June 2002 to develop a sponsorship strategy. On Feb. 1 one-year contracts from the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles, CA and the NextStage Theatre in Dallas, TX will begin. Huge Wakeham, president of Wakeham & Associates, said all the assignments came through referrals. The agency's task for these clients is to seek marketing alliances between a venue and national and local corporations.
