LONG JOHN SILVER'S TO ENTER CANADA

Priszm brandz is preparing to bring quick serve seafood chain Long John Silver's to Canada. The initial Canadian Long John Silver's restaurant will open on Jan. 20 in Peterborough, ON, the first of eight locations scheduled to open in that province. It will serve as a prototype for the brand in Canada. It will be part of a multi-branded restaurant location where it will be combined with a Taco Bell restaurant. All eight of the upcoming Long John locations will operate with another priszm brandz restaurant. The Long John Silver's chain is owned by Yum! Brand, which bought it from Yorkshire Global Restaurants last year. Yum is the international franchisor of KFC, Taco Bell and Pizza Hut. Priszm brandz is a franchisee of Yum, operating those chains in Canada. Advertising and marketing for Long John Silver's in this country will be handled by Young & Rubicam.
