Alliance Atlantis Broadcasting is promoting the comedy series "Curb Your Enthusiasm" with a multimedia advertising campaign. The sitcom, which airs on the HBO network in the U.S., will debut on Showcase on Feb. 12. "We are set to make as much noise as possible about the arrival of this series," said Janet Eastwood, executive vice-president of marketing, communications and creative services for Alliance Atlantis. On Monday, ads displaying quotes from critics about the show were placed in the washrooms of media buying agencies in Toronto. On Jan. 15 promotional workers will hand out postcards on the streets of downtown Toronto. The workers will wear backpack television monitors that will play 30-second clips of the show. Also, chalk drawings have been created at some Toronto intersections. Thirty-second television commercials will air on Citytv, The Score, Sportsnet, A&E, TBS and the Alliance Atlantis group of channels. Thirty-second radio commercials will air in Toronto and Vancouver. Print ads will run in national magazines and TV books including Time, Tribute, enRoute, TV Times and Starweek. Theatre advertising will also promote the series. In addition to advertising, a Web area containing information about the show's cast, crew and episodes has been created at <http://www.showcase.ca>. The radio and print elements of the campaign was created by FCB Toronto. The television ads were created by Alliance Atlantis.
