CALGARY STAMPEDE PREPARES REPUTATION MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

The Calgary Exhibition & Stampede has hired Weber Shandwick, Cameron Strategy and Sue Wood to develop a reputation management program. The Calgary-based volunteer organization hosts approximately 550 events each year, including the ten-day Calgary Stampede. Weber Shandwick's Calgary office will work on the assignment along with Cameron Strategy, a research and strategy company, and Sue Wood, a volunteer management consultant. The group received the assignment following a request for proposals. According to Vern Kimball, assistant general manager of the Calgary Exhibition & Stampede, four candidates made the shortlist for the assignment. The names of the other contenders are not known. The organization hopes to have the reputation management program completed by mid-February, Kimball said. Advertising for the organization is done by Highwood Communications of Calgary.
