MICROSOFT DROPS HILL & KNOWLTON, PUTS ACCOUNT IN REVIEW
By Adnews Staff
Microsoft Canada has placed its commercial public relations account in review after dropping Hill & Knowlton. The agency has worked for Microsoft for ten years. Brian Stock, corporate public relations manager for Microsoft, said the company felt it was time for a change. He described the Hill & Knowlton as "a great partner for a long time," but said that the business has changed quite a bit. Microsoft has compiled a shortlist of replacement agencies for the work, but Stock declined to identify the contenders. A decision will be made by Jan. 15, the date the company's contract with Hill & Knowlton expires. Microsoft uses Media Profile for its corporate communications and High Road Communications for its consumer group public relations. These assignments are not affected by the review.
