COSSETTE CREATES MCHAPPY DAY ADVERTISING
By Adnews Staff
Cossette Communication-Marketing of Montreal has created a new advertising campaign for Ronald McDonald Children's Charities of Canada. The campaign supports McHappy Day, a fundraising event originated by Toronto-based McDonald's Restaurants of Canada. On Nov. 20, 25,000 restaurants in approximately 100 countries will participate in the global fundraising effort. On that day proceeds from the sale of certain McDonald's items will be donated to Ronald McDonald Children's Charities, Ronald McDonald Houses and other local charities. A 30-second Canadian television commercial for McHappy Day began running yesterday. Called "Falling," it depicts a child who appears to be falling, but who is actually jumping into someone's arms. Ten-second television billboards will be created from the 30-second ad. The television advertising, along with a national radio campaign, will run until Nov. 20. Public relations for McDonald's Restaurants of Canada are handled by Weber Shandwick Worldwide of Toronto.
