JAM CLOSES DOWN

Toronto-based Jam shut its doors on Monday. The marketing communications agency was founded in 1998 by chairman John Marovino. Marovino cited economic circumstances and the loss of several significant undisclosed pieces of business as reasons for the closure. "My team and I worked very hard over the last six months to keep things together," said Marovino. "This is an exciting industry and everyone involved with this company worked very hard to maintain Jam's position in the marketplace. However, our circumstances changed drastically over the last little while. Therefore, after much consideration, the board of directors has passed a resolution instructing our senior management to cease operations." Jam offered promotion, advertising, new media, public relations and corporate communications services. Its clients included Maple Leaf Consumer Foods, Good Humor-Breyers and Bridgestone/Firestone.
