WHITE SPOT RELEASES TWO NEW TV COMMERCIALS IN BC

Vancouver's Wasserman & Partners Advertising has created two new 30-second television commercials for White Spot restaurants. The ads are aimed at families, couples and single people around 30 years of age. The creative promotes new and old menu items and the chain's new decor. According to Chiyoko Kakino, director of marketing for White Spot, the intention is to show people how the restaurant's food and look have evolved. The first ad shows four women at a restaurant table eating appetizers and talking about their boyfriends. One woman is teased for dating a younger man. At the end of the ad, the women order dinner, including a Pirate Pak to go for the boyfriend. The second ad shows a woman eating an appetizer and waiting for her boyfriend. She thinks, "Late as usual." The boyfriend arrives and kisses her on the cheek. A waitress comes to take their order. The woman thinks, "He'll order the burger, as usual." The boyfriend orders something else and pulls a bunch of flowers from behind his back. The ads, which will run in British Columbia for the next six months, are part of a larger ongoing campaign that uses the tagline, "White Spot. Irresistibly different."
