CTV PLANS CANADIAN IDOL

CTV will develop a Canadian version of the television series "American Idol: The Search for a Superstar." Fremantle Media and 19TV will also be involved in the development, production and broadcast of the program, to be called "Canadian Idol." FremantleMedia and 19TV introduced the "Idol" concept last year in the United Kingdom. The series has since expanded to South Africa, Poland and the U.S. Auditions for "Canadian Idol" will take place in several major Canadian cities. Further details regarding the hosts and judges are not yet available.
