NINTENDO BEGINS PROMOTIONAL TOUR

Vancouver-based Nintendo of Canada has begun a national promotion and sampling tour in support of its line of software titles aimed at consumers over the age of 18. During the "Nintendo For*Play" tour, promotional workers will visit bars, other venues and social events in British Columbia, Alberta, Quebec and Ontario. The tour is part of a Nintendo marketing strategy indended to inform consumers about its titles for older gamers, according to the company. The games featured in the tour include Metroid Prime, Resident Evil O, EA Sports NHL 2003, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4, Sega Sports NBA 2K3 and James Bond 007: Nightfire. Public relations for Nintendo are handled by GCI Group of Toronto. The tour was created in-house by Nintendo.
