CTV CREATES AD CAMPAIGN FOR OSBOURNES
By Adnews Staff
CTV has created a new advertising campaign to promote "The Osbournes" television series. The series follows the real lives of rock musician Ozzy Osbourne and his family. "The Osbournes is such a unique property that we wanted to create a campaign to make it stand apart from every other show on CTV," said Jon Arklay, director of creative services for CTV. "We took the approach that if anyone could break the rules, Ozzy could, and we wanted viewers to get the sense that something very different was coming to the network." The campaign's on-air promotions incorporate the colours blue and green to create a "retro feel," according to the network. Outdoor advertising, also in blue and green, includes a billboard campaign, a 35' poster on the wall of Toronto's Masonic Temple and transit shelter ads in Toronto and Calgary. Print ads in national and local television books and a national radio campaign are also part of the campaign. The series will debut on Sept. 17.
