FLARE MAGAZINE DEBUTS TORONTO SECTION
By Adnews Staff
Fashion magazine Flare introduced a new section in its September issue called "Scene - Celebs & the City." The 24-page guide covers Toronto restaurants, spas, boutiques, nightclubs, hotels and cafés that are frequented by celebrities. Approximately 66,000 newsstand and subscriber copies of the magazine in the Greater Toronto Area contain the guide. Flare's total circulation is 163,426. The celebrity guide will appear again in the magazine's November issue. Future issues of the magazine may include "Celebs & the City" sections for other cities such as Vancouver, according to Tracy Finkelstein, marketing manager of Flare Magazine. In a Web survey conducted in April by the magazine's research department, seven out of ten respondents admitted to being influenced by celebrities when it came to their own fashion, make-up and hair style decisions. Eighty-eight percent of respondents stated they would like to read about celebrity style and trends in the magazine.
