MISSION MINI INVESTIGATION BEGINS
By Adnews Staff
Mini Canada has begun its search for three Canadian "investigators" to participate in its Mission Mini campaign. During the international promotion, contestants from 17 countries will travel to Barcelona to investigate a fictional case of stolen artwork. Each team will consist of three contest winners and a national VIP. Canada's VIP will be speed skater Marc Gagnon. The Mini.ca Web site presents the story of the art theft, which was created for the campaign by author Val McDermid. The site also offers information on suspects and interrogation reports. Also, Mission Mini mystery story booklets have been distributed to Canadian Mini retailers. A mail-in postcard in the booklets can be used to enter the contest. The deadline for entry is Sept. 30. Print ads using mystery-themed creative will run this week in urban weeklies. Washroom advertising in bars, restaurants and fitness clubs will begin next month. The advertising for Mission Mini in Canada is being done by Taxi Advertising & Design. A global public relations program by Ketchum Public Relations also supports the contest.
