TVB RENAMES ADVERTISING COMPETITION
By Adnews Staff
The Television Bureau of Canada has changed the name of its annual advertising competition from Retail Comp to the TVB Retail Commercial Awards. The bilingual event, now in its 31st year, promotes retail television advertising. Entries are submitted by Canadian television stations, agencies and productions houses from across Canada and are judged by consumers. "We have evolved the competition to recognize the growing use of television by chain retailers while still allowing single-market or regional advertisers to compete among themselves," said TVB president and CEO Jim Patterson. "This name change reflects the existing wider scope better than the original name." The deadline for submitting entries for this year's awards is Sept. 27. The winners will be selected in February 2003.
