CANADIAN GOLF ASSOCIATION BEGINS TORSTAR CAMPAIGN

The Royal Canadian Golf Association has begun a campaign involving the print, online and television properties of Torstar Media Group. The association is the governing body of men's amateur golf in Canada. The campaign promotes the 2002 Bell Canadian Open, which will take place from Sept. 2 to 8 at the Angus Glen Golf Club in Markham, ON. The association also conducts the AT&T Canada Senior Open and the Bank of Montreal Canadian Women's Open. Advertising will run for six consecutive Saturdays on the golf page of The Toronto Star. The campaign began on July 27. Advertising has also been placed on the golf section of <http://www.waymoresports.com> and in other Torstar regional dailies. The television component includes a 30-second commercial during broadcasts of golf program "18 Greats." The program runs from mid-April to October on Toronto Star Television. The Bell Canada Open campaign is being managed by Cossette Communications Group.
