FARMERS COOPERATIVE TO RELEASE LOONEY TUNES FLAVOURED MILK IN CANADA

Farmers Cooperative Dairy Ltd. of Canada will introduce a line of Looney Tunes brand flavoured in Canada. The Bedford, NS-based company, owned by 300 dairy farmers in Atlantic Canada, has signed a contract with Bravo! Foods International Corp. of North Palm Beach, FL, to bring the milks to this country. Bravo holds a license from Warner Bros. Consumer Products to use the Looney Tunes characters and names on milk products distributed in the U.S., Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, China, Canada and Mexico. Currently the line is sold in 32 U.S. states. The line will initially be released in Atlantic Canada before rolling out nationally. According to Ron Burry, marketing manager for Farmers Cooperative Dairy, the products will come in five flavours: vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, banana and orange. They will be distributed in Farmers Cooperative's new Tetra Top packaging. Advertising plans are still being determined, Burry said, but will focus on in-store promotion drawing on creative materials designed by Bravo.
