TORONTO CONVENTION CENTRE HIGHLIGHTS STAFF IN NEW CAMPAIGN
By Adnews Staff
The Metro Toronto Convention Centre is highlighting its employees in a new $100,000 advertising program. The print campaign will run in Canadian and U.S. meeting planner and convention trade publications. The first ad will appear in the September issue of Meetings & Incentive Travel magazine. Melissa Arnott, marketing manager for the convention centre, said the new campaign builds on a previous awareness effort that ran in the spring. "We want to build on the success of our first campaign of attracting national and international trade shows and conventions to our convention centre and the city of Toronto," she said. "As a result of our awareness campaign, we just held the international BIO 2002 conference last month. It was the largest ever held in the history of the biotech industry and the largest convention this year for the city of Toronto." A series of print ads has been created for the new campaign depicting the convention's sales staff, event co-ordinators, executive committee and other employees. In one ad seven staff members are pictured with the headline, "Add these people to your meeting." The convention centre used an independent freelancer to create the campaign.
