Hewlett-Packard will be the first advertiser on <http://www.thestar.com> to use a new tool called AlterAd. The Toronto Star has teamed up with Whitelabel Technology Solutions to provide advertisers with the application, which allows Flash-based advertising creative to be updated or changed. HP will use the service in its recently launched "Trade In, Trade Up" campaign. Jim Latimer, president of Whitelabel, said AlterAd was developed in response to agency clients who wanted to more easily change ad copy online.
