COCA-COLA BRINGS VANILLA COKE CAMPAIGN TO CANADA

Toronto-based Coca-Cola Ltd. has begun a national advertising campaign to raise consumer curiosity and drive trial of its new Vanilla Coke. Two television commercials broke on Monday. Each depicts a young man in a situation that sparks his curiosity. In the first ad, called "Head Lock," a man finds himself in a head lock after looking through a hole in the wall. In the second ad, called "Closet," a man is pulled into a closet after looking through a hole that has a large red arrow pointing to it. In both ads actor Chazz Palminteri and a character called Jimmy reward the men's curiosity with Vanilla Coke. A radio ad and a sampling campaign will accompany the television advertising. The TV ads were created The Martin Agency of Richmond, VA and adaptated for Canada by MacLaren McCann of Toronto. MacLaren McCann also produced the radio creative. Inventa World of Toronto is handling the sampling campaign. Vanilla Coke was released in Canada in mid-June.
