ALLIANCE ATLANTIS TO PROVIDE IN-FLIGHT PROGRAMMING FOR AIR CANADA
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based Alliance Atlantis and Montreal-based Air Canada have formed an exclusive agreement by which the former will provide programming for all of the airline's flights that are 90 minutes in length or longer. Next month Alliance Atlantis will begin providing a half-hour magazine-style program consisting of branded content from its networks. The company will also provide full-length programs from its range of channels including HGTV Canada, Food Network Canada, Life Network, History Television, National Geographic and the Independent Film Channel. Through a previous agreement, vignettes from History Television have been part of the airline's in-flight entertainment since 1997. The new agreement was put together by Spafax Canada, which publishes Air Canada's enRoute magazine and produces the airline's onboard entertainment. "Given that a variety of high quality in-flight entertainment is a priority for our customers, particularly on medium and long haul flights, we're confident that there is something for each of our customers in Alliance Atlantis' entertainment spectrum," said Steven Grovestine, director of product design for Air Canada.
