SEARS ACQUIRES VOGUE BRASSIERE TRADEMARKS

Toronto-based Sears Canada has acquired the trademarks of Vogue Brassiere Inc. Financial details of the acquisition are unknown. Vogue, originally founded in Quebec, went into receivership earlier this year. Sears' acquisition includes the trademarks for Vogue Bra, Vogue Dessous and Vie as well as the firm's design and production material and a "significant" amount of finished goods inventory. Sears Canada's 125 department stores will be the exclusive North American sellers of Vogue intimate apparel. New product will be distributed Sears' stores early next year, the company expects.
