NISSAN CANADA EXPANDS SUMMER PATROL PROGRAM

Nissan Canada has expanded its summer patrol program for 2002. The marketing initiative originally ran as an eight-week pilot program last summer. Five groups of promotional workers, up from three last year, will travel to events, festivals and other locations in Ontario each weekend in a collection of Nissan vehicles including the Xterra, Frontier 4-Door Crew Cab and Sentra SE-R Spec V. The program also includes an online contest. Games cards, distributed by patrol members, direct consumers to the <http://www.summerpatrol.nissan.ca> Web site where they can enter to win a one-year lease on an Xterra. Additional prizes from Helly Hansen, Bollé Canada, EMI Music, Tecnica and PowerBar are also available. Decals on the vehicles promote these companies. The summer patrol program was developed by Desperado Marketing of Toronto. The Web site was designed by Adeo Communications, also of Toronto.
