PROCTER & GAMBLE DEBUTS PRINGLES PHOTO BILLBOARD
By Adnews Staff
Procter & Gamble of Cincinnati, OH debuted a new billboard for its Pringles potato crisps in New York's Time Square yesterday. The billboard was created by Robert Silvers of Runaway Technology and measures 25 ft x 20 ft. It consists of approximately 3,000 pictures of young Americans and Canadians who responded to an invitation earlier this year to submit photographs of themselves eating Pringles. The promotion also involved a camera crew that visited Toronto, Miami and Chicago to take pictures. The photos on the billboard have been arranged to form an updated version of the face of Mr. Pringle, the character that has appeared on the brand's packaging since 1968. The ad will run in Time Square during June. It will also appear on the <http://www.pringles.com> Web site. Public relations for Pringles are handled by Porter Novelli.
