STEEL ALLIANCE BEGINS SAFE DRIVING CAMPAIGN

BenchMark Porter Novelli has created a "Nerves of Steel Aggressive Driving Awareness" campaign for TheSteelAlliance of Pittsburgh, PA. The campaign began last week to coincide with the first long weekend of the summer and the start of National Road Safety Week, which runs from May 18 to May 24. The annual awareness effort is centred around the Nerves of Steel Aggressive Driving study, which gauges the current attitudes and behaviours of Canadians concerning aggressive driving. The results of the study, conducted by Thompson Lightstone, were released last Wednesday. A new component of the campaign this year is an online pledge at <http://www.thenewsteel.com>. Canadians who visit the site can take a pledge to drive safely during the summer. Visitors who take the pledge are entered into a contest to win one of 10 emergency roadside kits. The contest will run until June 29.
