RECKITT BENCKISER INTRODUCES NEW MUSTARD, NEW PACKAGING

Reckitt Benckiser (Canada) Inc. of Canada has released an addition to the French's Mustard line called French's Sweet Onion. The product, which contains real onion bits, will enter the market this summer. The French's line also includes French's Yellow, French's Bold n' Spicy Deli, French's Honey and French's Dijon. The company has also redesigned the squeeze bottle for French's Mustards. According to Reckitt Benckiser, the packaging change is in response to consumer feedback. This is the first time the brand's bottle has been changed since its debut in 1974. The new bottle is wider and thinner in shape. It includes new graphics, a flip-top and peel-off seal under the cap. The mustards now come in 225 ml, 400 ml and 325 ml sizes. The new flavour and redesigned packaging are being promoted with two television commercials, created by Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer Euro RSCG of New York and the Buchanan Group of Australia, and with print advertising by Cross Promotions of Toronto. Public relations are being handled by Hill & Knowlton Canada.
