TORSTAR UPDATES CORPORATE LOGO

Torstar Corp. has a new corporate logo. The Toronto-based media company's board of directors approved the logo at the company's annual general meeting on May 1. Created by Enterprise Creative Selling of Toronto, the logo consists of a blue square with a pale blue wave in the shape of a "V" across its centre. The Torstar name runs below this in white lettering. According to the company, the logo can been interpreted as an open book or newspaper or as a source of light. Torstar's online presence has been updated with the new logo. A more gradual process will be used to incorporate the logo onto corporate materials and stationary. Torstar's businesses include daily newspapers The Toronto Star and The Hamilton Spectator, Metroland Printing, Publishing & Distributing and Harlequin Enterprises.
