GESCA CREATES NEW PRODUCTION HOUSE

Montreal-based newspaper publisher Gesca has created a new production house called La Presse Télé. The unit will be headed by André Provencher as president. Provencher will continue to be president and publisher of Le Nouvelliste and president of Éditions Gesca, which develops special interest publications. Beginning this fall, La Presse Télé will produce a series to be broadcast by Radio-Canada. The daily program will be hosted by Ricardo Larrivée, a food columnist for La Presse. Guy Crevier, president of Gesca, said the creation of La Presse Télé is consistent with the company's development strategy, "which consists in exploiting our content on new platforms."
