CORBY DISTILLERIES PROMOTES C.C.&G

Toronto-based Corby Distilleries Ltd. is preparing a campaign for a new product called C.C.&G. The ready-to-drink beverage combines Canadian Club rye whisky with ginger and spices. It will be sold at LCBO and other retail outlets as well as some bars and restaurants in Canada beginning next month. C.C.&G will be sold in a pack of four 355ml bottles. A national television advertising campaign, also beginning next month, will promote the product. The spots will target men in their 20's and 30's using a "why it's good to be a guy" theme. Television advertising, which will run until July, will be accompanied by in-store programs at outlets and licensees. "C.C.&G can be enjoyed anywhere people might enjoy a beer," said Peter Dimulkas, marketing manager of Corby Distilleries. He said the product is made for guys who like the taste of rye and aren't satisfied with vodka or rum coolers. Advertising for C.C.&G is done by Goodgoll Curtis of Toronto. Public relations are being handled by Cohn & Wolfe.
