SWISS CHALET PROMOTES RETURN OF E.T. TO THEATRES

Swiss Chalet of Mississauga is promoting the March 22 re-release of Universal Pictures' and Amblin Entertainment's film E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial with an E.T.-themed meal, figurines, cookies and an in-restaurant contest. The promotion begins on March 18. The E.T. Quarter Chicken Fudge Brownie Special consists of a rotisserie quarter chicken, a choice of side dishes, Chalet sauce, a roll and an E.T. Fudge Brownie dessert. Purchasers the meal will also receive a scratch card for a chance to win one of three trips to Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. Swiss Chalet will also distribute one of ten E.T. figurines with every Kids' Meal and will sell E.T.-shaped chocolate cookies for a limited time. A four-week television advertising campaign begins on Sunday to promote the offer, running on specialty stations and regional and national networks. This will be accompanied by in-restaurant materials and a video billboard along the Don Valley Parkway in Toronto. E.T. tells the story of a boy and an extra-terrestrial stranded on Earth. The re-release will present never-before-seen footage, computer generated enhancements and a digitally remixed soundtrack. Advertising for Swiss Chalet is done by Ambrose Carr Linton Carroll of Toronto. Public relations for Swiss Chalet are handled by Strategic Objectives, also of Toronto.
