YAHOO CANADA PROMOTES PERSONALS

Toronto-based Yahoo Canada has begun an online marketing campaign throughout its network to promote its new Yahoo Canada Personals site. The campaign targets Canadians 18 years of age and older with banner ads that read "Happily ever after isn't only in fairytales" and "Love is in the air! Find exactly what you're looking for on Yahoo Canada Personals." Isabelle Hemond, brand manager for Yahoo Canada, said the campaign will expand to include other forms of online advertising such as vertical skyscrapers and pop-up windows. Yahoo Canada Personals debuted this week as a place for Canadian adults to meet. Users can post an ad for free or search ads that have been posted. To respond to an ad or receive responses, they must become a member for $29.95 a month. Additional aspects of the site include dating tips, advice on writing a personal ad and email alerts to notify a user of search results. The advertising for Yahoo Canada Personals was created in-house.
