HUDSON'S BAY PARTNERS WITH TRAVELODGE CANADA
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based Hudson's Bay Company has formed a partnership with Calgary-based Travelodge Canada that will allow members of the HBC Rewards program to earn points when they stay at Travelodge or Thriftlodge hotels in Canada. The offer goes into effect on March 1 at the 100 Canadian Travelodge and Thriftlodge locations. Collateral materials including posters and counter cards will promote the offer at both the front desk and in the individual rooms of the hotels. Travelodge Canada is also holding a sweepstakes to promote the partnership. One national prize of a million HBC Rewards points and four regional prizes of 500,000 points will be given away. The contest is being promoted with a brochure created by Hospitality Advertising Group of Ottawa, which also developed the collateral materials. Hudson's Bay Company will promote the offer to its members through a new HBC Rewards Web site that will open next month as well as in the HBC Rewards catalogue later this year and in flyers from The Bay and Zellers stores. Advertising for the HBC Rewards program is done by Padulo Integrated and Vickers & Benson Companies Ltd., both of Toronto. Public relations for Travelodge are handled by Goodman Communications of Toronto.
