NESTLE BREAKS KIT KAT CHUNKY ADVERTISING
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based Nestle Canada has released the first advertising for its Kit Kat Chunky brand since the chocolate bars were introduced in June 2000. The campaign was created by J. Walter Thompson of Toronto and includes a 30-second television ad and four outdoor executions. The 30-second ad, called "Pirhana", broke during the Super Bowl. The commercial is set in a lab where two scientists are feeding two pirhana fish. After eating a piece of meat the fish are still hungry, so the scientists give them a Kit Kat Chunky bar. "Pirhana" will run during programming that targets teens and young adults until June. A national outdoor campaign which also plays on the size of the chocolate bar will accompany the TV ad. The creative displays a Kit Kat Chunky bar and headlines such as "Kit Kong" and "Choc-a-lot". The tagline "Have a Bigger Break" is a modification of the Kit Kat tagline "Have a Break."
