HYUNDAI MOTOR GROUP CONSOLIDATES MEDIA PLANNING

Hyundai Motor Group of Seoul, Korea has consolidated the media planning and buying for Hyundai Motor America and Kia Motors America at Carat North America. Carat won the account in a review. The appointment is effective May 1. Media planning and buying as well as creative for Hyundai Auto Canada, based in Markham, ON, are handled by Bates Canada. That relationship will continue with no changes expected at this time, according to Sam Ra, the company's national advertising manager. Kia Canada Inc. of Mississauga is in the midst of an agency review for its creative and media account. The incumbent, Griffin Bacal Volny of Toronto, has has this business since the Kia came to Canada in 1999. GBV is participating in the review. A decision is expected this week. Also, Hyundai Motor America will review its national creative advertising account, assisted by consulting firm Select Resources International. Incumbent Bates Worldwide will participate.
