Aventis Pharma Canada Inc., based in Laval, Quebec, has awarded Allard Johnson Communications its Allegra allergy medication account. Allard Johnson won the business over Academie Ogilvy in a competitive pitch. The firm will be responsible for creative and media planning for Allegra in Canada. The agency's Montreal office will handle the account with support from its Toronto office. A national campaign will begin in the spring. "Our team really enjoyed the challenge of creating a comprehensive, strategic vision for a product that would need to appeal to two very different target markets, health care professionals and end consumers, and would appeal to both the English and French marketplace," said Luc Paquette, vice-president of client services for Allard Johnson. Previously advertising for Allegra was done by Publicis.
