GROCERY GATEWAY PROMOTES FIFTIES PRICING

Mississauga-based Grocery Gateway has begun a promotion during which new and existing customers of the online grocery retailer will get 1950 prices on certain items including bread, milk and eggs. Customers can purchase a loaf of bread for $0.19, a two-litre carton of milk for $0.59 and a dozen of eggs for $0.59 cents when they order online or through the company's telephone ordering service. Supporting the 1950s pricing promotion is a series of three new 30-second radio spots using the company's tagline "You shop online. We deliver. Now this is progress." Grocery Gateway billboards displaying the company spokesperson Jim, a 1950s-style delivery man, will be tagged with a banner promoting the offer. Additional marketing support will include decals on the company's delivery trucks and buttons on delivery staff. Advertising, done by Garneau Würstlin Philp Brand Engineering, will be supported with public relations from Media Profile. The promotion ends Feb. 28.
