NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC CAMPAIGN HIGHLIGHTS ADVENTURE PROGRAMMING

Toronto-based Alliance Atlantis Communications has begun a new advertising campaign for its National Geographic Channel. The digital channel debuted in September. Its free preview period ends this month. "With the free preview period ending, we wanted to remind viewers that only the National Geographic Channel features the world's best adventure and exploration programming," said Janet Eastwood, executive vice-president of marketing, communications and creative services at Alliance Atlantis Broadcasting. The campaign includes full-page colour ads in Canadian TV listing books. One ad for the Sea Hunters exploration series displays divers examining an underwater wreck. The text reads "The world's greatest ship museum isn't open to the public." Other series promoted in the campaign, which was created by FCB Toronto, include Built For the Kill and Savage World.
