REYNOLDS GETS WAXED

Reynolds Metals Company Limited of Montreal bought Scott Paper Ltd.'s Canadian wax paper business late last month. Scott will continue to manufacture and distribute the paper and Reynolds will market the product, which carries the Cut-Rite brand name. The deal brings a second kitchen product to Reynolds; the company makes aluminum foil. Scott used to do some print and trade ad for wax paper but hasn't done any advertising for the product in several years, chairman Lee Griffith told Adnews in a recent interview. Officials at Reynolds were unavailable to comment on how they would be marketing the wax paper. In December stockholders approved U.S.-based Kimberly-Clark Corp.'s $6.8-billion(US) takeover of Scott Paper, also a U.S.-based firm. The buyout has not yet received regulatory approval in Canada.
