STARBUCKS INTRODUCES STARBUCKS CARD
By Adnews Staff
Starbucks Coffee Company has devised a new payment method called The Starbucks Card. Sold in various denominations between $5 and $500, the card can be purchased at any North American company-owned Starbucks location and used for purchases the same as cash or credit cards. When the card's balance gets low, it can be reloaded and reused. For the holiday season the card is being promoted as a gift. "We are excited about the future of The Starbucks Card as the platform for some exciting, experience-enhancing interactive initiatives that we will test and implement over the next couple of years," said Karin Koonings, Starbucks' marketing manager for eastern Canada and New England. The coffee retailer's licensed locations, including those at airports, grocery stores, bookstores and hotels, are expected to begin offering the new card shortly. Public relations for Starbucks in Ontario are handled by GCI Group.
