ONTARIO TOURISM MARKETING CAMPAIGN DOUBLED

The Ontario government has earmarked $10 million for what it describes as an aggressive multi-pronged tourism marketing strategy. The program will be operated by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Recreation and the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Corp. in two parts. One, called "Come Stay With Friends," is aimed at U.S. markets. The other, called "Pride in Ontario," aims to encourage travel within Ontario by that province's residents. The strategy will include expanded domestic marketing and advertising campaigns intended to strengthen the Ontario brand. "We are more than doubling our efforts to market and promote Ontario," said Tourism Minister Tim Hudak. "This is fantastic news for the tourism industry."
