MICROSOFT XP VIGNETTES TO FOCUS ON SYSTEM'S FEATURES
By Adnews Staff
Microsoft Canada will begin running a series video vignettes promoting its Windows XP operating system on Nov. 19. The 15 45-second ads will run on Canadian specialty television stations for one month. A second flight will run from Jan. 7 until March 2. The ads focus on various features of the Windows XP operating system including its video conferencing, application sharing and home networking capabilities. The videos were produced by The Chalk Network, a Vancouver-based new media company. The videos are also viewable online at <http://www.msn.ca/youcan> as part of Microsoft's consumer education campaign. The spots feature Dave Chalk, the host of Dave Chalk Computer Life. Susan Sharp, senior communications manager for Microsoft Canada, said the videos allow consumers to preview the operating system and familiarize themselves with the technology before they buy it.
