COCA-COLA SLICES LEMON INTO DIET COKE
By Adnews Staff
Coca-Cola Ltd. of Toronto is marking the 20th anniversary of Diet Coke with the release of the brand's first extension: Diet Coke with Lemon. The product began appearing in stores nationally last week. According to the company, the beverage contains no sugar and has one calorie. The only change to the soda's ingredient list is the addition of a natural lemon flavour. Coca-Cola is promoting the new product with regional sampling programs and public relations from Apex Public Relations of Toronto. Although no initial advertising is planned to support the launch of the drink, future advertising for the Diet Coke with Lemon will be done by Cossette Communication-Marketing, which handles advertising for the Diet Coke brand.
